THE PNTC Colleges sponsored a faculty development seminar with the theme “Bridging the Gap: A Lecture Series on Effective, Efficient and Consistent Classroom Management” at the main library of the PNTC Colleges Manila, December 6 and 7 last year.
Former Research Department Director Dr. Aida Pardales in cooperation with Maritime Education Dean Capt. Juan Gonzales and former General Education Dean Dr. Herminio Ceballos supervised the two-day seminar.
Pardales with faculty members organized the seminar, which aimed at improving the general teaching competence of the entire PNTC faculty.
The seminar vowed to enhance each instructor’s ability to implement an effective and efficient classroom management that is essential and viable in any educational process.
To attain this goal, Pardales tapped the expertise of PNTC’s very own education authorities including her, who gave the lecture on “Personality Development among Educators,” which was presented with ideas and lessons vividly introduced in video clips and designs.
With the faculty audience in awe and admiration, English faculty member, Dr. Imelda Stuckle imparted the second lecture with the topic “Communication Skills as Instruments of Successful Educators.”
Day Two started with a recap of previous lectures.
Faculty member and The BEACON adviser Dr. Lolita Fernandez resourcefully shared the topics, “First Day of School” and “Teaching Innovations,” a twin discussion based from her years of teaching experiences in the Philippines and abroad.
Last but not the least, English faculty member Dr. Maria Delia Arabejo, whose practical rapport with faculty audience made a difference spoke on the topic “Teaching Methodologies and Strategies” applicable to actual practice and environment.
Interestingly, the two-day seminar was each capped with workshop and output presentations.
